Course outline: The course aims to familiarize participants with mass communication concepts, models, social and psychological means of mass communication, and to develop essential analytical skills applied to this field. Upon completion of the course, students will gain knowledge of mass communication, modern approaches to mass communication analysis, major mass communication institutions and their structure, psychological effects caused by mass communication; major legislation regulating mass media, and methodology of mass communications studies. Course participants will learn a wide range of mass media resources; learn how to prepare mass communication effects utilizing radio, television, print, and Internet media; plan media research, and conduct sociological surveys on mass media audience.
